How Do You Like Your Lemon Water - Hot Or Cold?

Cold Lemon Water. Keep a jug of lemon water made by soaking cut lemons in a jug of water overnight. This way there is always a cooling, refreshing drink available.

Hot Lemon Water. Make a cupful of hot lemon water by adding the juice of half a lemon. Add some honey for taste and this is wonderfully soothing for a cold. Some people like to add a shot of whisky as well!

A glass of cold lemon juice first thing every morning is a great pick-me-up. It wakens and invigorates your system.

Lemons and the benefits of lemon water.
· Lemons are antiseptic

Instead of those environmentally friendly but yucky/neutral perfume free AND expensive green cleaners - try using lemons instead.

Lemons and can be used to:

1. Deodorise the microwave. Put half a lemon in a small bowl with a small amount of water and heat to boiling point. Switch the microwave off but leave the bowl in the cooker until it is cold. Then just wipe around the interior of the cooker with a damp cloth to remove greases and grime. Save money and avoid expensive cleaners.
2. Add lemon juice to some warm water and pour over your head as a final rinse. This is a good treatment for blond hair, making it shine. If you sit outside in the sunshine for half an hour, and then rinse again, the blond effect will be deeper.
3. Wipe out your fridge with a cloth using warm water and lemon juice.
4. Mix Borax with lemon juice into a fairly stiff paste and keep in a small lidded plastic container. This is excellent for cleaning sinks and baths. Rinse well when finished and it will really make them shine.
5. Own brand bottled lemon juice is good for cleaning stubborn spots on copper and brass and saves the expense of branded cleaners.
6. Put half a lemon on one of the spikes in your dish washer and run the programme through.. This gives a refreshingly clean dishwasher, free from odours.
7. Use lemon juice as an alternative to bleach for removing stains from clothing. Lemon juice can be used on practically anything that is colour-fast and won't be harmed by the citric acid. Experiment on strengths and measures, testing a small inconspicuous place first.
