Sweaty Armpits and Antiperspirants, Treatment For Armpit Sweating, Limit Sweating

Armpit sweating or axillary sweating is so commonly found and so annoying that everywhere we find a lot of people inquiring about how not to sweat or how to limit sweating. In fact, armpit sweating is perhaps more irritating than either hand sweating or feet sweating. Patients often find it severely affecting their lives.

People who complain about armpit sweating are often advised to undergo sympathectomy, the very effective surgery to stop sweating. But, let us look at an alternative to surgery.

A very effective treatment to stop sweating is the application of antiperspirants or deodorants. They are found to be very effective in the case of mild or moderate armpit sweating. There are different products available in the market. We can safely say that the use of the deodorants is the first step in the use of alternative methods for the treatment for armpit sweating.

The most popular deodorant is Drysol, a medicated antiperspirant. It is a prescription drug but it can be purchased over the counter too. It is in fact an aluminum hydrochloride product and it is effective even in the case of severe armpit sweating.

Another such product is Maxim which is a non prescription topical antiperspirant. It can be purchased online also. As it has a well-balanced pH, it is easier to use and causes less discomfort to the user.

There are also topical agents that contain anticholinergic agents. But they need a very large concentration to have a significant impact on sweating. Such large concentrations of this medication can cause some side effects also.

For severe axillary sweating sympathectomy may be essential. In all other cases we should first of all make an attempt to use other, simpler methods. Since these products are easily available, patients can try alternative methods before undergoing surgery.
